Welcome tWelcome to Fairlawn Local Schoolso Fairlawn

I’d like to take this opportunity to introduce you to the Fairlawn Local Schools in Sidney, OH.  Regularly recognized as one of Ohio’s best small school districts, Fairlawn boasts tremendous facilities and a wide variety of opportunities.  Driven by a teaching staff that prides itself on maximizing our student’s potential, while affording them opportunities to explore career options and pursue outside interests.  Fairlawn offers a large number of CC+ and post-secondary options.  As well, the Upper Valley Career Center offers a number of Career Technical opportunities for our students.  The academics at Fairlawn are rigorous and offer differentiated instruction to accommodate all of our students’ needs.  Our 650 student population provides a family atmosphere, where each student is known by name and appreciated for their value to our big picture!

High expectations are the norm at Fairlawn Local.  Staff, students and community leaders built and implemented a Continuous Improvement Plan that provides our long-term success.  Fairlawn enjoys a 100% graduation rate and sits above the state average in most categories when being compared.  The high expectations can also be seen in the many opportunities our students are offered in athletics, music, art, and drama.  High quality athletic teams are highly valued at Fairlawn where the Jets are members of the Shelby County Athletic League.

Philosophy on Education: School should be FUN! Every student should be known by their name and not just simply be a number. Extra-curricular activities and athletics make school a better place. Not every student needs to go to college to be successful!

Why Fairlawn is Ohio’s best district: Great kids, great staff and great facilities are a recipe for a great place! There are so many people in this district who want it to be outstanding in all aspects. The TEAM approach between school and home are just getting stronger and that makes for success…
